A new challenger is ready to keep you on your toes, or should we say, with your fingers on your nose The Stinky Smog can whip past at any time to mess up your work and steal things you need. Bundle up in your favorite sweater for Episode 3: Home Sweet Home. It does give an excellent idea of what an Ascent sequel or spin-off might look like if Neon Digital decides to try its hand at a first-person shooter or RPG, however. Fall is in the air and so is Tools Up Garden Party’s final fall episode.

Unfortunately, The Ascent is not playable in the first-person perspective, as this trick merely leverages a free camera. While the textures could certainly be better in some areas, the art and environmental design of The Ascent arguably puts many areas of Cyberpunk 2077 to shame. Many Ascent fans have argued that Neon Giant has managed to pull off an even more authentic cyberpunk experience than CD PROJEKT RED’s controversial title, and this new first-person camera mode seems to add significant credibility to their claims. Despite being an isometric shooter that’s meant to be viewed at a top-down camera angle from far away, The Ascent demonstrates a surprising amount of detail even up close, well enough to compete with games that were designed for first person.

A free camera can be enabled in the game with the use of a tool called the Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker, allowing players to view the game through a first-person perspective. YouTuber Gaming with Griff Griffin has shared a neat trick that allows The Ascent players to check out the indie title’s beautiful, neon-lit visuals more intimately.
